Information We Collect

K53 Study Guide does not require you to create an account and does not ask you to provide your name, email address, ID number, address, or payment card details.

The app may process the following information:

• Study progress, quiz answers, test results, settings, and premium access state stored locally on your device.
• App usage events, such as screens viewed and quiz or test actions, through Firebase Analytics.
• Crash reports and diagnostic information through Firebase Crashlytics, including device and app information needed to investigate crashes.
• Purchase state and transaction information handled by Google Play or Apple App Store when you buy premium access.

How We Use Information

• To run the app, remember your progress, and unlock premium features after purchase.
• To understand which parts of the app are used and improve the study experience.
• To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and maintain app reliability.
• To comply with app store, payment, security, and legal obligations.

Third-Party Services

The app uses services provided by Google Firebase, Google Play, and Apple where applicable. Those services may process data under their own privacy terms. You can review their policies here:

Payments

Premium access purchases are processed by Google Play or Apple App Store. K53 Study Guide does not receive or store your payment card details.

Local Storage

Study progress, settings, history, and purchase state may be stored on your device. Deleting the app may delete locally stored app data. Some purchase entitlements may remain available through your app store account.

Free Web App

The free web app needs no account. It stores study progress, quiz answers, mock-test results and preferences in your browser’s local storage when available. Progress does not sync or transfer to another browser, device or the mobile app. Clearing this site’s data in your browser settings can erase it; private browsing may discard it when the session ends. History reset in Profile clears the selected study or assessment history.

The launch web app uses Firebase / Google Analytics to measure screens viewed, study activity, assessment starts and completions, and optional store-link clicks. Analytics may use browser identifiers and cookies or local storage; returning-browser counts do not identify distinct people. We do not link web progress or analytics identifiers to mobile purchases or a cross-device account. Web access does not involve purchases.

Browser privacy settings and tracker blockers can limit analytics collection. Clearing site data also removes browser-local progress. Existing mobile store and privacy choices remain available; Google’s privacy policy above explains its processing.

Data Retention

Local app data remains on your device until you clear it, reset history where the app allows it, or uninstall the app. Analytics and crash data are retained by the relevant third-party services according to their retention settings and policies.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, including under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, you may have rights to ask about, access, correct, or delete personal information associated with you. Because the app does not require an account, some data may only exist locally on your device or inside third-party services.

Children

K53 Study Guide is intended for learner's licence study and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, services, legal requirements, or data practices change. The effective date above shows when this version took effect.
